Three Four Time is designed for children 3-5 years old. Classes run in blocks of 6 weeks like a school half term and each session lasts 45 minutes. Children attend without an adult, helping them prepare for the big step of starting school. Each half term the children are introduced to a new musical concept and a new story theme. The format of classes is very similar to Music with Mummy but the songs and learning objectives are more challenging. The children will be introduced to musical terms and concepts e.g. piano, forte, lento, presto, and the themes are drama based with the children being encouraged, both collectively and individually, to act out a story.
Stories and themes include: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, The Carnival of the Animals, Noah’s Ark, Sleeping Beauty and many more. 
The Aims of Three Four Time
1. To encourage the idea that music is a pleasurable social activity.
2. To encourage listening skills.
3. To develop a sense of rhythm through movement, games and the use of simple instruments.
4. To provide early training in singing.
5. To develop basic concepts such as ‘loud’ and ‘soft’, ‘high’ and ‘low’, ‘slow’ and ‘fast’ etc.
6. To introduce musical terms, e.g. piano, forte, crescendo and diminuendo.
7. To have fun.
