Music with Mummy provides structured, lively, weekly classes for children aged 3 and under and their special adult. Sing songs not only with Mummy, but with Daddy, with your Grandma, with your Grandpa, with your brother, with your sister and with your friends. The main aim is to teach basic aspects of music to young children whilst having fun and making friends. Classes are deliberately kept small (max of 10 children) and last 30-35 minutes. Each half term starts with a new theme e.g. ‘Home’ which helps to introduce a musical concept e.g. ‘loud and soft’. The activities are built around these two themes. The material has been specially composed to gently direct young children towards clearly defined objectives.
The songs are a mixture of nursery rhymes, traditional songs and original songs especially composed for Music with Mummy. Many songs have simple actions and movements to accompany them. There is always percussion time and a short listening section.
